Results of Club 4-Hour Time Trial - 12th September 2004

Despite the chilly, windy conditions Rob Tobin broke his own record for the event, while Rachel Lloyd produced an equally impressive ride to set a new Women's record. However, the event was marred by an accident on the finishing circuit which resulted in John Clarke being taken to hospital with a fractured hip. It appears John fell heavily when he caught the wheel of another rider as both were looking to overtake a slow-moving hay wagon.

Sadly we were less able to celebrate some of the other outstanding performances, such as that of Stuart Sherriff, who at 69 was riding his first competitive event for 20 years and proved to be the best Vet on Standard, while Keith Hirons beat his target distance (the equivalent to the handicap competition) by over 8 miles.
