Results of 4-Hour Time Trial - 9th September 2012

A very determined Tim Hastie was a worthy winner in very warm conditions, with a SW breeze throughout. This was an entry of 32 riders, including 4 private entries. Our thanks once again to all the timekeepers who supported the event, helping us man all six stations on the finishing circuit, although more volunteers would have helped us deploy 2 people per station, essential with so many riders. Once again we were plagued by tractors and unsympathetic 4x4s - one woman said to a timekeeper "Could you ask these cyclists to move into the lay-bys to enable me to get past?".

Some riders using GPS will claim a distance slightly greater than shown below, but remember, the distance is calculated as where you were when your 4 hours expired, not necessarily where you stopped. However, the course must have grown since this version was first measured in 1997 - considerably pre-Garmin era!
