Results for 29th June 2005 - Course: K3/10N
It seems we can never have a trouble-free evening on the 10 course at Lower Shuckburgh. This time we were able to use the full course, but the weather played its part, with a storm all but washing out an event which had started in warm, sunny conditions. Earlier riders had no problems but the later numbers struggled to ride to the finish as stair-rods fell. It was an easy win for Hywel with Colin and Rob opting to ride ordinary roadbikes (why?) and with five riders in the 25 minute bracket, Rob was almost caught for 3rd place. After being held up by a herd of sheep crossing the road, a traffic jam and then the storm, Rachel Lloyd decided safety and retirement were preferable to time trial points. Craig Middleton again headed the handicap table, but surely he can't continue to improve at the same rate? It was a welcome return for the Oz-bound Elsdons after missing the last seven events, opting for a tour of Britain by narrow-boat.
