It was a first win for Brendan Hirst after pre-race favourite Oliver Billing dropped out with a cold, volunteering instead for pushing-off duties. After a hot few days the rain closed in during the event, turning to a downpour as everyone cleared away. This was the final evening event of the season, with just the club 50 remaining on Sunday September 8th.
