  • Sunday rides - a small group of club members are riding on Sundays, starting at Barby Road at 0930 hrs, riding at a steady pace for 2hrs with no cafe stop. This should suit riders who are looking for a shorter ride with less time commitment on a Sunday.
  • The Mids CTT is piloting a new ranking system in 2010 for open events, similar to British Cycling's Elite, 1st Cat, etc. To show how this works results have been calculated using 2009 results and these can be viewed on a new website:

    http://rankings.midlanddc.org.uk/

A case for this is explained in our report of the CTT AGM.

  • Historic table of Club events updated to include 2009 winners.
  • Is your bike insured? You may want to take up Kenny Robinson's suggestion on bike insurance.
  • Disappointing turnout for the club hillclimb won by Richard Kenworthy.
  • Emily Ducker breaks the Club 10 record for the third time this year!
  • Now calculated - Tables of 10-mile & 25-mile Championships, plus Vet on Standard. Also the Handicap & Vet on Std results for the 4-hr have now been calculated.
  • Now the 4-Hr's been ridden we can calculate the result of the Club Best-All-Rounder. Go to Club BAR to see the full list.
  • Club runs are re-starting on Sunday mornings - meet at Barby Road (Temple Speech Room) at 9.30 am - contact Rob Tobin (01788 535694) or Colin Stiles (01788 572034).
  • Go to results index to get the details and points tables to see the final position for the 2009 season.
  • Mike Bloom sets a +12-47 for a 30 mile Vet on Std. As we have not had a 30 mile record in this category we must assume this establishes a club record, unless someone can produce a counter-claim.
  • Anothe club record for Marina Bloom - this time Wendy Cooper's 50-mile record from 1982. Go to Records index for details.

  • Yet another appeal - please don't stand in front of the timekeepers at the finish, or within the line of sight. It could be YOU we miss next time!
  • Insurance: £1 of your entry fee in club time trials goes towards the CTT's 3rd party insurance scheme. However, we discovered recently that this is a contingency insurance (ie a reserve) which only applies when there is no other cover (ie personal or home insurance). You may want to review your own insurance cover.
  • Appeal to DNFs - As a rule the timekeepers will not leave the finish until all riders have been accounted for. Recently there were 3 DNFs but only one told us he had a problem. Obviously riders' priorities change when they drop out, but it would help to send a message back so we know you're OK.
